LessGovernment.com launched in 1999 as a hodgepodge of conservative ranting. Shortly thereafter I abandoned the conservative label and became a big-L American Libertarian, which I stuck with for maybe three or four years until adopting small-L libertarian minarchy. Some time around 2005-2006 I became an anarcho-capitalist and have since relinquished the “capitalist” portion of that title. These days one might call me an agorist, though I’m somewhat fond of mutualism also (except for the labor theory of value). I’m perfectly fine with being called a mere anarchist, but feuding between the socialist and market wings of anarchism makes this general term counterproductive at times.

So let’s summarize like this: I’m an individualist. As an individual, I believe that the best path toward maximizing my own personal liberty and happiness is the pursuit of liberty (free association, voluntarism, etc.) by way of counter-economics. Hence, I am an individual who favors agorism. As my ever-moving train of thought uncovers more ground, I may eventually become an individual who favors something else entirely. Indeed, the last decade has already seen significant changes. Nonetheless, for the time being the labels agorist, anarchist, individualist, voluntaryist, libertarian — they all fit to one degree or another. Apply as you will.

Since a database failure in early 2008, all articles prior to that time have been stored in PDF format in the LessGov Archive. Content deemed excessively divergent from my current views has not been included. Too much confusion was being brought about due to some very old, pro-state sentiments on this anti-state website.

I occasionally post videos on YouTube under the name LibertyIsNotGiven. A blog of the same name (seldom updated) houses text responses to videos that catch my attention but don’t warrant a video from me.

Scratch recordings of some of my folk music can be downloaded at MySpace.

I administer B-Scared.com for Grand Guignol (aka Tzar, whose LessGov writings prior to 2008 are in the PDF archive).

In related news, I’m an aspiring author in search of an agent and/or publisher who might be interested in cliché-free fantasy (no orcs, elves, dwarves, demons, spirits, portals, spells or magical trinkets — but including just a hint of sci-fi). I also play guitar, mandolin, bodhran, tin whistle, piano and harmonica, in roughly that order of competency.

I don’t use IM programs too often anymore, but I can always be contacted on YouTube or via e-mail (eugene [AT] lessgovernment.com).
